The Institute for Professional Studies since its inception in 2002 has been one of the privately owned institutes in Bhutan which provides Tourism and Hospitality management courses to interested individuals.


Taking into account the importance of booming Tourism in Bhutan and the needs to complement tourism development and its demand, our institute has been prioritizing into producing professional tourist guides and hoteliers by giving them Tourism and Hospitality management courses like Tourist guide/Trekking guide course and Hotel management courses.


In addition, the Institute for Professional Studies would soon start adding another language course primarily a French and German language. The motive behind this initiative is to produce tourist guide capable of speaking various languages like French and German to complement the needs of growing arrival of French and German tourists in the country.

The Candidates upon the successful completion of their course will be awarded National Certificate Level 2 (NC 2) and National Certificate Level 3(NC 3) which is endorsed by the Department of Occupational Standard, Ministry of Labour and Human Resource and Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB). 

This achievement would help a person to get employed and work professionally in hotels, resorts, and luxury hotels within Bhutan. The institute would also provide on-the-job training (OJT) to trainees in hotels within Bhutan. Now we IPS ECPF have considered venturing into the placement of students for higher education business. Education Consultancy and Placement Firms (ECPFs) are private business entities responsible for helping students aspiring to pursue higher studies and make informed decisions on the choice of programmes and colleges/institutes/universities outside Bhutan. They are also mandated to provide guidance and assist students to get enrolled in suitable courses in recognized higher education institutions across the globe. Basically, they are entrusted with the important responsibility to facilitate students in choosing the appropriate programmes and institutions for higher studies as well as placing them in recognized higher education institutions. The Department of Adult and Higher Education (DAHE), Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Bhutan is responsible for facilitating the establishment of Education Consultancy and Placement Firms and monitors their activities as per the provisions underpinned in the guidelines.
